2006

The main project this year will be our involvement with MacMahon on the Darwin City Wharf Development. In January, despite the wet season rains, our 45 tonne excavator and two artic dump trucks were already busy loading and placing armour rock and imported fill for the convention centre pad and sea wall.

2005

One side of the Territory to the other; first an annual job raising the tailings dams at Gove, this time working for MacMahon for several months, then moving to Mataranka to stockpile 150,000 tonne of limestone for Northern Cement. Towards the end of the year we carted the last of the armour rock at Wickham Point then moved to Stokes Hill Wharf to play our small part in the the Darwin Cove Development.

2004

January 17 was a great day; the first train from Adelaide arrived at East Arm to scenes of jubilation. Wickham Point LNG Plant, constructed by Bechtel for Conoco Phillips, provided the bulk of our work this year from one contractor or another. Our part in excavating for, then dragging on shore and backfilling, the shore end of the Bayu Undan gas pipeline gave some relief from the tedium of carting armour rock. Then two months at Sally Malay helping with the installation of water and tailings storage facilities, followed by some load and haul at the new rail freight depot in Darwin. Three months in the open cut at Ranger Uranium Mine and it was Christmas already.

The last of the dirt and rocks was carted and it was only a matter of waiting for the ballons next year to celebrate the completion of the Alice to Darwin Railway
